Seventy well-shucked oysters, countless bottles of wine, incredible food made by the sweetest of chefs:
travel [LAKE TAHOE, NV]
In September, I spent five days on the Nevada side of Lake Tahoe with my favorite dude and his sweet family. We ate great food, fika'd on the porch, visited Virgina City just in time to catch the steampunk ball. We hiked through Desolation Wilderness and camped at Lake Aloha (my first hike-in-overnight-adventure), fell asleep watching tiny stars streak across the sky.
And mostly, we all relaxed. We read, we worked quietly and diligently, we waded next to splintered beams. We watched sunsets, and drank malört, and I, at least, was the happiest.
maternity [Karintha & Todd in Marin County]
Todd & Karintha live in the quiet, secluded paradise that is Lagunitas, California. I've known them for almost seven years now, and they have become two of my strongest and most supportive friends. They've cheered me on through countless changes and have opened their home to me more times than I'll ever be able to count. They helped me discover my love for Northern California and Fairfax Scoop, and for both things I am eternally grateful.
Their baby girl is due in just under a month. I can't wait to meet this lucky little chick.
