travel [KIMISAGARA MARKET in KIGALI, RWANDA]

Yesterday I joined Apollo, Heaven's purchaser, at Kimisagara - one of the largest markets in Kigali. Held Tuesdays & Fridays, this three-level market offers an abundance of produce, meats and fish, as well as shoes, clothing and household items.

The aisles are indescribably busy and buzzing with the local language, Kinyarwanda.

shop [BOTTOMS-UP JOSHUA TREE CALENDAR]

I arrived in Kigali, Rwanda last night. For the time being, I'm staying in one of the three rooms available at Heaven Restaurant. The room is big, comfortable, and clean, and the mosquito net that drapes over the bed at night gives it this vaguely romantic vibe.

While I'm gone, I'll be selling my Bottoms-Up Joshua Tree Calendar via my shop.

travel [RWANDA]

As I prepare to cross the Atlantic and then shoot down half a continent on Sunday, I can't help but think about expectation.

People have been asking, "are you nervous? are you excited?", and the only answer that feels true is "I just Am." I've never been to where I'm going, and while I'm reading and researching and daydreaming, the plain truth is that I don't know what to expect. How it will feel. How things will change.

And so, I'm simply packing. I'm saying goodbye. I'm thinking a bit about all the moments that have led me to this one. And I feel ready for what's next.
